Miles per tank???

Just got myself an 03 ibiza 1.9 tdi sport 130 and have filled it up twice both times the computer telling me i will only do 315 miles on the tank, surely this isnt right as im reading that i should be doing 400+???
Anyone enlighten me as to why its telling me only 315.

Disregarding how many miles the computer tells you you're gonna do, how many miles do you actually get out of a tank, and what does it take (in litres) to refill it?

well i didnt really pay much attention the first time i was just happy driving the new car, but then after reading on here i took notice, ive done 175 miles and im just above half a tank left at the moment from last fill up

i got approx 400 from my last one, i went round a roundabout and it went from 1/8 full to 0. i then drove up a hill and it went back to 1/8.

I'm going to keep a 5 litre in the boot spare and find the real number (actually, is that legal? or just bad fumes)

lol i had a volvo that did that! as to the tank in boot i dont know mate im new to diesel ownership but in that volvo i kept petrol tank spare and the fumes was terrible.

315 is the number that always appears after I fill the car up, I normally get 460 minimum to a tank. Might be worth disconnecting the battery for 10 mins so it loses it's mpg calculations?

there is a reset button underneath the right stalk

now i could RTFM but could anyone enlighten me what tricks this does?

The reset button just reset the mpg readings and tank amount or everything like clock and trip count? What is RTFM??

Running a diesel dry wouldn't be the brightest idea you've ever had - they don't like it much

Ive got the PD100 remapped to about 140ish and i get between 500-600 miles per tank.

It depends how many time i have a blast in it. Has never dropped below the 500 mark though.

I dont have the on-board computer to tell me how what my MPG is, i work it out when i fill up.

Mine's a 100PD and I get more than 500 miles to the tank each and every time (Trip computer often says upto 600!). From reading threads on here it seems that the average for a PD100/PD130 driver is 425 to 500 depending on driving style.

How do you drive? Try cleaning the air filter?

Don't really know much about Ibiza's but you should get far more than that on a full tank. I have an '06 Leon FR+ and can easily get 500 miles on a tank driving 50/50 motorway and thru' town (albeit not in rush hour).

An Ibiza should be capable of well over 500 miles I would have thought.

Going rate, I did 700 in my 150 Revo.

Ok little update sat morning i put £20 in to fill it up from where it was between 1/4 n 1/2 tank,computer still said id do 315 miles to the tank, however i drove from cambridge to milton keynes and back then from camb to braintree and back, ive done 215 miles and im just gettin onto half a tank left which suggests ill get around 400ish to the tank, but yet on those journeys which were dual carriageway/motorway all the way i only managed 44mpg???
