Just been down the stealers and there's 2 colour options. Brilliant Silver and Onyx something witch I assume would be black. Went for the Brilliant. Hopefully get tomorrow or Friday.

Just off out now to get the double din adapter and the wiring adapter.

Too much stuff required!

You said it!!

I have spoken to so many people about how to install this and get different feedback every time.

I installed the head unit last night and iPod in the glove box my task for the weekend is to get the Bluetooth interrupt working

Any help would be appreciated.

My ISO adapter (connects2) already has the fakra adapter built in.

As for the steering wheel controls, you'll need this as well. http://www.peripheralelectronics.com/prodDetail.asp?strProductID=597&strCategory=Steering%20Wheel%20Control%20Interfaces&strSearch=

Same as I've already ordered from ebay

How come you need 2 of those things? (is that a silly question?)

One is a generic adapter for the controls, and the other one is specific to the VAG group cars which in turn plugs into the first unit.

Have a look on my first ebay link on page 3, just inder the image of the unit. Says you need other item too

The SWI-CAN is an add-on module for use with the SWI-X, SWI-JACK, SWI-ECL or SWI-PS. It is used for steering wheels that use a dual wire CAN bus to control the factory radio. The SWI-CAN interprets the data to a usable signal that the SWI-X can use.

Well.......I spoke to somebody today and they said if you take out your glove box and or your climate control you will have plenty of space for your Quadlock and iso connections and the grey Alpine power smoothing majig (Technical terminology)

If I get brave enough Saturday morning I will give it a go.

I'd like to know the answer.

The first link shows an RCA input using the CD changer port on the head unit.

If that were used, wouldn't it be muted when the BT handsfree was activated?

Ignoring the mute function for a moment, I still can't see how the OEM BT connections can be married up to an RCA input that both the above 'adapters' provide.

The only way I Can see it working is taking the 2 Tel cables and joining to one rca and then the third Tel cable (tel Mute) to the IN INT.

But Im still not convinced and after all what do I know?!?!?:headhurt:

Parts is saying it is showing as a zero pick, which I assume means its out of stock!

Wanted to get on with it today as well!

Yep, that's the conclusion I came to - and use a Y lead to convert the TEL RCA (Mono) to feed the head unit's left and right channels. If this is the correct way to go, there's no guarantee that the BT signal level will be correct for the interupt device.

  :headhurt:

 My ISO adaptor hasn't come yet, so thought sod it, I'll buy another 1 as I'm so impatient.. BUT! Its wired differently.. Thats ok, I've seen the wiring diagram on this site, so I'll move the wires in the adaptor about.. Can I find the sodding diagram??? Something doesn't want me to install this damn stereo..

So, does anyone know what the non-standard colour of wiring actually is? ISO is Red, Yellow, Black, Blue, etc. But the car has Brown, and a few others, but they definately don't match. Any help would be great!

I'm gonna search yet again for that diagram. Wish me luck..

Had the same trouble yesterday. Gave up in the end!

Got the unit running by connecting it all to the live feed, then took it out again.

Where do you connect the park brake cable?
