Need an opinion on some alloys...

I've never even remotely considered buying alloys for my car before, mainly since i've never had a car worth putting them on.

Since picking up my Leon, i've been told I should put the Cupra R ones on it. I figure that's a bit dumb - I have nothing against the Cupra R's rims - but I haven't got a Cupra R :D

So I figure i'd try something a bit different. They stand out, and the ones in the pic are actually the 18" (i'm picking up the 17s - not sure if there's any difference visually in this case)

But I wanted some opinions - or suggestions for alternatives! Fire away ;)

Tacky. Very tacky. Too much going on, too shiny, too many angles, too fussy looking. Not at all classy or suited to the LCR in my opinion.

Well obviously i'll go with what I think looks good ;) but my experiences with Alloy wheels has been limited to whatever i've seen while out driving, halfords and ebay.

Always nice to have alternatives! :)

I thought someone would say that, just needed reaffirming ;)

Also - not an LCR, just the regular vanilla 1.6S

Sorry, just after I posted I re-read the post and realised that. Still, they would make your car, whatever model it is, look very cheap and Chavvy!

Not a fan myself, to much going on in the design. Simple and effective is whats needed im my opinion.

I am not a fan of Wolfrace alloys apart from the Urban Racer series, the rest are shocking, to much going on in the design and then to add to that they do a series of alloys dedicated to Jap motors but they look crap.

Chavvy is definitely not what I want from my new car! ;)

Ok, well find me something you guys reckon is simple and effective - whilst being UNIQUE (not the LCR ones - i'm buying a bloody LCR in a year or so anyway!). :D

Every one will say to you "cant afford unknowns then?". These are a copy of Konig Unknows. I dont think they will suite ther LC Image either. I want some Race looking rims. Not Pug 306 chav rims

The motorsport wheels website doesn't have an option for the 1.6 16V - only the 1.4 - are they gonna be the same when it comes to wheel configuration?

Not at all. They key things are the PCD and Offset and those are the same for most models in the Leon range :)

Principle is keep it simple, a good 5, 6, 7 or 8 spoke will do the Leon justice. A good alternative is replicas of original Audi, VW wheels which are v. desirable in my opinion. I personally want some new RS4 replicas as I believe they would look good on a LCR.

Yep, simple means excellent cooling for the brakes plus a weight saving which increases MPG plus helps acceleration amoungst other things.
