Climate control just died!!!!

Ive got a 2003 tdi (130) ibiza and iv just lost climate control. I have no idea why . The indication pannel is still showing readings but i have no cool air entering the cabin. Iv checked to see if their is any gas and their is so if any one can shed any light on this plz then that would be great cheers

also are the temperature readings correct (the "external" temp on the climate screen and the one on the trip computer) could be a faulty temp sensor

Are the fans kicking in when the engines idles? (to keep the temp down)

I'm not sure if it's the same in the Mk4's but with the Mk3's - one fuse controls all the fans, if this goes - the air con goes, the cooling fans go etc etc...

I found this out in the Q at Trax, where 2 weeks before I thought "oh, my air con's gone"... then it got uber hot in the Q.

It's worth reseating them all just incase, as I didn't need to replace mine (although I did do) to make it work again.

Sorry if I'm wrong, but might be easier if you can't get to vag-com easily.

The fans does not appear to kicking in so ill have a look at that and im going to be heading back home next weekend so will get them to vag-com. right on

Cool - sounds like it'll just be the fuse mate (it's a 30A if you get chance to pick one up before you check - just incase you need another one)

Mate cant find any 30a fuses in the fuse box to the right of the dashboard. dont know if maybe their is another fuse box that i havnt found? and the fuses in that fuse box are all ok

I can only go from my experience from my Mk3, but there's another smaller box on or near the battery, there are another 3 fuses on there. From your symptoms, I'd say it's gotta be the fuse, but where that fuse is on the Mk4 I can't say for sure... i'd check near the battery though.

Was just thinking the same, dude, loads of interested people on here that your in the services, If you know what we mean

By the way, my air con did the same, leak from a union on the bulk head, sorted the problem and had a re-gas, works fine now, all under the warenty.
