Hi,

Has anyone got any experiance with ARB's on the Leon FR TDi ?

Where is the best place to get them ?
Who makes decent ones ?
Is the MOD worth the money ?

Any advise please

The LC/FR does not have a rear ARB - so you'll only uprate the front ARB and then add a rear ARB.

H&R/Eibach do kits consisting of front & rear bars, or neuspeed do them individually.

I went for the h&r kit - they have bigger hoops on the end to allow for driveshaft clearance when lowering, and the rear bar obviously helps at the rear, and counters the increased understeer from the larger diameter front brace.

Approx £280 all in for the 2.
Neuspeed are approx £250 each
Eibach are the same price (ish) as the H&R, but be aware that these have fitting issues with the standard LC/FR backbox (fouls on the corner)

uprated ones?? and why???

Surely you know what a ARB is and how it helps the handling? Plus since the Ibiza and Leon cannot be called the best handling stock car on the road since Seat cut corners and didn`t fit a rear ARB or even a descent independent rear axel setup i should have thought Domcj was quite justified.

yer obviously i'm not a tech for nothing!:) but to go down the route of coilovers would be the best way to go at the start

As i wrote i dont really want to lower the car as i think its low enough already.

pabs, is it just the eibach that has fitting issues or does the H&R kit as well ?

Where is the best place to get them ?

don't know 100% if the h&r kit has the same issues as the eibach or not TBH - i had a supersprint exhaust when mine was fitted.

But looking at the Eibach and H&R kits, I can't really see much difference? Hopefully someone can confirm though.

I didn't want to mess with the suspension either & lower the car (too many ******* speed bumps) !!

I went down the route of front & rear upper strut braces to sort out my handling - it's done a great job of it so far :D

Have a read of Rudd's suspension guide at the top of this forum. Granted, it's based around the LCR, but the theory is the same.

Scotty_B had/has a H&R Rear and it rattled against his Blueflame back box.

If you looking for a subtle improvement, especially to "tie down" the rear, I wuld think about just having a 25mm rear (Neuspeed on mine).

I've got the Eibach kit on my LCR, with stock suspension, and it's made the world of difference! Highly recommend it!

Did have clearance issues with the BF backbox though, but a swift whack with a lump hammer sorted that!

You would think that wouldn't you? lower car = more scraping because logic says that's the case.

However you are also uprating the suspension reducing nose lift and nose dive when under accelration and braking.

Also over potholes the car is better damped on decent aftermarket suspension, less crashing through pot holes etc.

Stick with suspension that lowers the car no more than 20mm and stick to Koni FSD or Bilstein (a decent make NOT FK or some budget cr@p ) and you'll be surprised my LCR (lower than your FR) scraped less with lower suspension...........strange but true

I've been looking at doing something with my suspension for a while but lowering is out of the equasion as mine scrapes getting on my drive just rolling. Are the Neuspeed ARB's that much better than the Eibach?

I couldn't disagree more on the clearance issue (see my post above)......my findings are based on what I found in practice not theory

You'll need Neuspeed to clear the bock box of the exhaust unless your running some aftermarket system, Eibach and H&R will rub on the back box.
