Where is the CD/DVD drive? Is it in a separate unit under your seat etc or is it concealed behind the screen or something. Bit confused here.

Also could you connect up back headrest screens for back passengers?

The cd/dvd drive is behind the screen, you press eject and the screen comes out and down a bit.

yep back headrest screens could be connected to this unit.

I like the sound of this... can it play iPod video's? and does it come with the iPod cable connector?

Would love to see photo of the unit closed.

Very impressive work :)
It is just what i am waiting to do when i get the budget for it.
Just one question about the bluetooth. Is it the original seat bluetooth with the steering wheel buttons? does it still operate with the steering wheel buttons and passes the audio to the unit?
can you please tell me how this is done? I really do not want to loose the functionality of my bluetooth after fitting an new unit and here in Greece that is what they all tell me.

The Alpine Bluetooth is its own system, independent of the SEAT system.

Whether it mutes the sounds system when connected to the SEAT system, I have no idea.

Steering controls are already possible, there is an adapter available.

My Alpine works with my seat bluetooth and the phone buttons on the wheel work as normal the part they used to make the radio mute and the sound come through the speakers was this
http://www.alpine-europe.com/typo3/index.php?id=nve-k200&L=16
but these are on back order from alpine.

The radio buttons on the wheel do not work at the moment as alpine have not made a interface for the new leon but we might try another car like a golf interface.

Can anyone figure out what all the differences are on these units?

And anyone seen some prices for the new 1?

Hopefully it brings down the price of the W200Ri..

Last question.. I've done my searches, but everytime I see a part number for the dash facia plate, they are never the same. I know there are different colours, so how do I know what part I need? (Maybe I need to swap dealers, as the parts guy I spoke to was a bit dim..)

Only people i've found who list a price for it at the moment are CarAudioDiscount

They list both models at £549.99

Which kind of makes me think its replacing the older model, but the prices may drop on the older model to shift stock, if places have a lot of stock. Double DIN treats me as the kind of kit they wouldn't carry stock of.

Do you have the alpine navigation system? http://www.alpine-europe.com/typo3/index.php?id=Navigation&L=16

For those of you who don't want to fork out mega bucks for the Alpine sat nav unit, or the blackbird (Which does looks nice..) you can plug a data cable between a cheaper sat nav system (TomTom maybe) into the alpine display, however you have no control over it from the alpine unit.. Haven't looked into it, but may do later.
