Sorry not a vastly interesting thread but I was checking out the seat website for a new handbrake cover as i don't like the cheap rubber one currently fitted and I saw in the picture a cover for the 12 v cig lighter. Has anyone got one and whats the part number as I am always losing the lighter when I plug my phone charger so this would be better as it appears to be a flap to fold up and down as required.

Also anyone got the handbrake cover, is it leather, come with a gaiter, easy to fit, got more detailed photos?????

(Sorry the link does not take you straight to the picture you have to go from Accessories Home

The part number for the 12v cover is E5P0919341A and is £5.32 if anyone is interested, when fitted in does look a lot tidier than the cig lighter in the hole.

Any pics? Is it easy to fit?

Cheers,

Scott

It looks pretty much as seen in the handbrake cover photo is a bit fiddly to fit, took me about an 45mins but after doing it once can probably do it again in half the time. If anyone gets one I post some destructions

I had one in my last car (they are fitted standard in some countries like Germany I think) and the kids snapped it off!

as you can see from this picture(and from your car of course) the handbrake is connected to its base.so robgti you change the base also or what?give us some idea on the procedure http://www.seatcupra.net/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=13290 !cheers!

Not got the part yet your point is one of the queries I was trying to get answers for before I parted with my hard earned, I would like to know if you get a gaiter with it, how easy or not it is to fit etc.....

I just fitted my handbrake cover today it is simple the new one just slides over the existing and is held in place with a small screw underneath total fitting time 2mins max, what i will say it is a nice looking item but imho its not £55 worth maybe £30 max.

I missed that, thanks! It looks good but i know some of these gearknobs and handbrake covers can 'feel' quite cheap. How do you rate this one Simmytt?

Jon1, the quality is bang on and looks and feels good but as it fits over existing hand brake it is quite chunky, as i said before at £55 its a bit overpriced.
