Do any of you guys know how I can find out the code to my head unit? I don't have the Radio Card as the Seat manual mentions, and want to avoid going to the dealer.

i had same prob i phoned local dealer (swindon) and they got back to me about an hour later with the code, for no charge. they will need car reg number and head unit serial number. to get that insert something slim into the little holes on front of hu ( i used edges of a broken cd case) and pull hu out. try doing a search if that doen't sort you out.

Yeah, concur with that. Recently bought my Leon with no code. Took it to my friendly SEAT dealer who unhooked the head unit, made a phone call and then text'd me the code for no charge!! Everything now fine!:funk:

Cheeky *******s at my local Seat dealership wanted £25, but seems I already had the code, so saved on some scandalous fee.

However, after Safe mode I get a display of 2000, manual suggests it should be 1000. The buttons 1-4 I keep pressing but the 2000 display is not changing so cannot enter correct code. Pushed buttons < & >, and still nothing.

Any ideas on how I can get my code entered??

Cheers

my seat wouldnt do it, said i had the make the 80 mile round trip for them to take it out

my advice, go through EVERY single bit of paper work you can find for the car. i found the correct one for mine written on a scrap of paper (HU was changed under warranty before i bought the car so the code on the radio card was wrong)

Dear all

I have now phoned the dealer that my Leon originally came from. Apparently I cannot give them the head unit serial number and chassis number any more to get the code - it has to be plugged into their computer!

Anyone help me on this, please don't tell me I have to pay just to get the code?!

You do normally have to pay, but you don't normally have to go through that process! They should be able to tell you the code from the information you have given them

Well, they're not playing ball. Apparently that system is "no longer available".

I think basically they can't be arsed.

Might try one of the local dealers here rather than the one in Stoke where my car's from.

That's B.S. and unfortunately a good example of lazy Seat dealers.

Try getting in touch with Seat UK customer services and explaining your problem and the trouble you have had resolving it. They might be able to help, or apply some gentle pressure to the dealer to help you.

Colliers Seat in Birmingham were slightly more use - they said that is has to be brought in and that they then send a message to Seat to get the code, which is apparently an hour's work, hence a £25 charge.

Can one of you phone up for me to your dealer who got it you for free if I give you the details?
