Leon FR tow bar

Have any of you guys got a tow bar on a Leon FR? I'm trying to get hold of one, and none of the suppliers can say for sure if one of the tow bars they have listed is going to fit.

I've had a reply from Bosal who say that the non-Cupra one they do might fit, but they havent had a go fitting it, so can't gurantee it'll fit.

Cheers

I had mine removed - bought it with one on. This was factory fitted to a CUPRA, made a right mess of me rear bumper as the buggers cut a big ****in hole in the back to get it in.

I dont have it with me but I'll go back to the place that removed it and see if they have it.

Where are you based?

Jack,

I'm on the hunt for one to fit an FR. Nobody seems sure if a Cupra or standard car one will fit. Bosal or Brink do one for the Cupra.

You can get a towbar for an FR either through PCT or GDW in Belgium. I tow a large caravan with my FR tdi and it pulls lke a train. These won 3rd place in the caravan club tow car awards.

What do you call a large van, we have 2004 Touran to tow with but if the Leon would tow my Bailey ranger 550/6 that would be great as it has loads more power

I tow a Compass Corona (Concerto) 505. 21'5ft external, 16'7ft internal. The MTPLM is 1300kg and according to SEAT the kerb weight of the FR TDI is 1333kg. This works out to be a percentage of 98%. UK law states that the plated weight of the caravan compared to the car must not exceed 100%. The caravan club does not recommend this match (as sooty mentione >85%) but according to European law this is OK. I tow with a Winterhoff stabiliser which is superb. My previous caravan was only a 78% match and I towed with a separate Bulldog stabiliser 200Q and the tow was terrible. But the new caravan with the built in stabilier and with a noseweight of 75kg tows perfectly, with less side to side and up and down movement on the road. I've just been on a two hour towing trip and I averaged 33mpg. Not bad for the weight its pulling. It was farily gusty too but still the FR faired well.

Domcj looking at the weight of the 550/6 the weights etc work out to be the same.
