Looks good mate, spacers work a treat!

I have an aero wiper too, looks great but is coming off in summer for smoother boot look!

Max was right!

when I fitted mine it just went straight on with no problems

I think the cars that need the cap rasping just need the wiper motor lifted up a bit

I dont think it was come up on a sound clip tbh mate. all you would hear is the engine and its not loud enough inside to catch on camera. You can hear it sucking the air in with just the slightest bit of throttle. Only if you have the radio off though. Some like a nice Darth Vader. :D

Spacers were £34.50 for 2 20mm spacers with the bolts. The spacers bolt into the hub (bolts supplied) and then the wheel bolts into the spacer. I bought them from http://www.ac-carparts.com/default.htm They are available through ebay. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/AC-Motorsp..._W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ9012066QQftidZ2QQtZkm Can't see the 20mm for our car on there but they do sell them, cos i bought them! :)

Not wanting to put a downer on things but your car was built with a forced induction air filter system for a reason. The K+N you have fitted might make a nice noise but i would be very surprised if you have more power or even the same power as with the stock system since you will now likely to be sucking in less air plus the air sucked in will be alot hotter as it is heated in your engine bay which your tiny SMIC will not be able to cool down so in warm weather you are going to suffer from heat sock like hell.

I was thinking that cos its hidden behind the battery cover so its not even gonna get any fresh air that blows through the grill. I wont be suprised if u get limp mode in summer.
Dont get me wrong, im not slating you, ive had induction kits on all my past cars cos they sound ace, especially on a V6, but I went with the PD160 intake and green cotton filter this time cos that seems to work the best.,
Other mods look good though matey!

That sounds scary also, the wheels only bolted onto the spacers :-o

My mate did this in his 306TD a few years ago, and the bolts snapped and the wheel fell off going round a corner. Didnt do the car any good!!!

hubcentic spacers with longer bolts are the way forward handling and safety wise induction kit looks good and sits nice and snug but get a heat shield for the induction kit and that will sort the heat problem or get a viper :cheeky:(my signature *cough* VVV)

Only asking then guys, my other car is an old Mini. 1989. The standard air filter sits around the carb in a big horrid metal filter holder with an air feed from the grill. I've got a K&N on that. and thats in the worst place possible. its behind the carb, next to the bulkhead, literally as far away from air as it could be. trundled round in it all last summer, sticking to my seats it was that hot, car was fine. Air filter had no air feed to it AND Minis are known for overheating. not once. not slating, questioning. :)

from a fellow mini owner.. its a totally different ball park the air intake in a mini and your modern TDI. Your tdi will need as cooler air as possible and any change to the intake can make a difference as its already being hard on the intake air by turbocharging it then trying to cool it with the intercooler.

may sound a very silly idea but im gonna mention it anyway :D if you got a pd 160 intake and installed it so it ran up to your k&n surly that will give a bit of fresh air it needs to avoid heat soak, a heat sheild too may be an idea but using the standard intake should work no?? just maybe a bit off trimming and some cable ties. a cheap fix :D
