im assuming you are referring to as "the runners/frame" im not sure about seat seats but modern ones are usually moulded to the seat. it may well be possible just to remove them from the frames and change them

you can remove the actual material but removing the actual base itself would be pretty complex i'd imagine and not for the DIY enthusiast,

certainly more straight forward replacing the entire seat

Thanks guys!

I know the rear seats come in like two sections, the bits you sit on and the bits that your back go against so i thought it probably worked the same for the front ones

Any ideas how easy it would be to do?

lol i've read enough of your threads to know ;)

tbh its not even a mechanics job, if you took it to Seat they wouldnt have a clue lol

i 'think' you have to remove the seat so you can flip it upside down, remove all the subfram and seat runners. then start removing clips/screws or whatever so that the base will pull off the frame of the actual seat. i havent tried it with my ibiza but i did with my 206 as i fitted a whole new interior but one of the seats had a fag burn in it so i removed it to get it repaired

Perhaps a tad harsh, i know more than you think, but hey whatever!

I didnt know you could 'repair' fag burns?

well if i remember correctly it was about 60quid or so to have the new piece of fabric put on. it was only a small area so didn't seem like i got much for 60quid but the interior i bought cost me £600 which at the time was abit of a bargain cos the going rate was over a grand. the fabric is called alacantra and feels gorgeous so it was worth it.

if i ever had a full retrim, i'd cover the cloth part of the Cupra seats with that

Thats not too bad considering i suppose although it would be much easier if you could sew ;)

At least you could trust it would be done well

You only have to look at the Fault Finally Fixed thread to know your not a mechanic, and thats not meant as a jibe.

Yeah alright, no need for everyone to have their say! It was a joke anyway! Plus everyone has to learn from somewhere, after the last year i have learnt loads about my car so whatever!

I know i'm not a mechanic, but i wouldn't want to be one anyway, it would far too much like hard work convincing all you men i was good enough :bleh:
