Not had much luck searching.

Where can I buy Aero Wipers for the car? Are they easy enough to fit? How much do they cost?

Cheers

Have you considered the flat blade upgrade kits? A lot cheaper than buying full sets - I've heard it's a pain getting ones the right size - lots of people have problems with the passenger blade hitting the A pillar.

Flat Blade kits here - www.wiperblades.co.uk

They look cool, and they have one for the rear too :)

Are these a direct fit? Any pictures on how they look on the car at all?

I haven't tried them - I was gonna get a set for the Ibiza - but then I sold it!

I don't think they do aero wipers for the rear - you'll need a Polo wiper for that. Only the first two items are flat blade kits - the rest are standard blades.

Sounds about right to me - let me know how they are - I may get some for the Leon.

Incidentally, ordered a set of standard wipers from these people on Thursday for the Escort - I placed the order at 3:10pm, got an email saying they had been dispatched at 4.55pm!!! They came with the first post at work - can't fault that at all! Very impressed!

Will do, my car goes into the bodyshop on Monday morning so I might not get the car back to the end of the week but will snap up some photos.

Order placed... ordered a back one too cause I needed one anyways - can't be bothered with the hassle of changing to a Polo one.

Will post back soon.

www.vagparts.co.uk i bought my rear aero wiper from. was a pain in the ass the fit and needed to cut it a lot to get it too fit. it was too low and scraped on the window. needed to cut the arm and the cap that goes over the washer jet. but fits fine now! :D and wipes MUCH better than a standard wiper! rear window can be soaking wet and it will totally dry it, literally squeaks its so dry:lol:

Do you find much of an improvement with them over the standard ones? Any pics?

no not really, just like buying new normal wipers, theirs obviously going to be an improvement depending how shagged your current wipers are. ill get pic's later on today :)

I have driven quite a few hire cars with the aero wipers and am very impressed with them. Don't kow if aftermarket replacements will be as good, but I think I am going to get some soon. Mine squeak all the way across the window unless the window is really wet.

Ibiza TDI 130, how much of a pain was it to fit the rear blade? There was a thread about this a few weeks ago (can't remember who) but they said it was an easy fit, just required a bit of filing.....?

It seems to vary from car to car a little, I think it depends on how high your original wiper spindle sits. I had to file the bottom of the arm itself, and the bottom and inside edge of the centre cap on my wiper. This was particularly strange as I had bought it second hand from another Ibiza owner and it had fitted fine on his

I've also fitted the upgrade wipers to our car, according to Valeo, you get better high speed performance up to 125mph

Anyone tried out that claim yet? :D

yup, they seem to skip abit around 100+
their no better, their no worse, they just look better

Think I might try the rear wiper mod at some point. The standard one was fine from new until it got to the winter, now it's rubbish.

It may have been my thread

I've just finished putting the aero rear wiper on, today! Basically, you need to ensure that you don't fix the arm on too tightly, otherwise it will touch the screen. You then need file some of the new cap off to make it fit, thanks to mja_fin for the following advise :D

Firstly, if you look at the back-inside-side of the cap (the side that points to the opposite direction of the wiper), you'll notice that there is some protruding plastic - you'll have to clip off some 0.3-0.5cm of it, otherwise the cap will not clip into place, as it will be hitting the round rubber part in the rear window (I think it's a seal... you'll notice it when taking off the old cap). The second modification is easier. After fitting the new wiper and cap if you try swinging the wiper, you'll see that when it reaches the far end, the plastic cap will be touching the window (and the cap will probably pop back up). So you'll need to take the cap off and use some sand paper to take a bit off of the cap. I just held the cap flat on the sand paper and took off about 0.2cm all the way round. The cap will then clip into place, hope this helps! :D

Very speedy service as Leigh said - I got the confirmation email on Monday and received the wipers today at 8AM.

I've left the digital camera in work, took a couple of pics with the mobile... the one I got for the rear is a very basic one but it'll do.
