yup
Ive replaced mine so hopefully these pics will make sense to you
how its comes from forge

The lower half (metal bit) unclips from the turbo.

the replacement tip then jubilees onto the turbo, it doesnt have to be totally solidly tight as it s sucking air at this point so its holding itself on rather than trying to blow itself off the turbo.

its not rocket science mate, just a bit sore on the knuckles if you have largeish hands. its pretty much a reverse fit of how the stock one comes off.

its not too bad really........some people have said they found it easier to raise the car off the floor but me and a mate did it with everything in situe.

there could be a few swear words involved in the process though but overall its not too bad.

I did mine from above also, make sure the car has been sat for an hour before doing it though, you need to move a solid water pipe out of the way and its hot.
This pic shows you how much room you have even with the pipe moved out of the way, i found a very long straight head screwdriver (circa 30cm at least in length) means you dont have to try and screw it amongst the other obstructions.

if found it easier to fit mine being underneath the car. the forge tips also need trimming tho, i had to take 1 inch off the turbo end.

No they don't need trimming. That will impair the TIP's performance.

i really dont see how trimming it will affect its performance, when i searched before fitting i found that loads of people have had to do this.

Forge designed it untrimmed. Those that trimmed it didn't try moving the metal water pipe. Moving the bend closer to the compressor inlet will restrict the airflow a bit.

Have you fitted one onto an ibiza?

No, but I'd like to know what the diffence is between a 1.8T Leon and 1.8T Ibiza in that particular area. :)

The amount of room you have to work in, is the difference.

Some of the tip's require trimming, as there is so little space between the water pipes and the turbo, plus the added difficulty of no space in the engine bay.
Trimming is required by some, in need to get the TIP onto the turbo.

Can't you move the water pipe sufficiently, Tom?

unbolt the water pipe, then get a metal spacer approx 1/4" thick, the fit the tip rebolt the water pipe with the space in, hey presto no trimming and a nice fit.
