Well iv had problems with my leon cupra 03plate. I recently had it remapped and thats when the problems started. The way to describe it is to say, when im accelerating and im in 4th or 5th and get to about 5500rpm it jus loses all power and then surges then stops dead then surges again.it struggles to go over 120. Now iv changed the plugs, all 4 coilpacks, and yesterday changed the maf and reset the ecu and the problem is stil there. Can anyone think wat it may be?im really really pissed with it all now. :(

Two things spring to mind....

TIP - These are prone to collapsing at that sort of area of the rev range. This restricts air flow and obvious affects the power produced. It's not until it pops back into it's original shape that it carrys on working again.

Clutch - Could be minor slipping of your clutch? Although if this is the problem I'd expect to see it elsewhere in the rev range and in more situations. Try putting the car in a higher gear and lower revs and put your foot down. If something similar to what you describe above happens again, it could be your clutch.

I'm sure there are other possible causes, but those are the two things that sprung to mind straight away.

TIP is "possible", wish it was your car getting it fitted next weekend eh lee?!

Clutch i wouldnt say, if your clutch is playing up the car would stop accelerating but the rev's would bounce off the top each time.

have you checked all the boost hoses lee?esp the smic-throttle one as we both had to cut it so its possible it wasnt tightened enough and the bottom lip has slightly slipped

As rob M said, check your TIP, i have had exactly the same as you happen to my LCR once, doing 100+ and there was nothing, the car just wouldnt pull, the airfilter sounded strange, like someone was trying to suffocate it, if that makes sence, i pulled over, checked pipes etc, and couldnt see a problem, it carried on doing it, then in a moment of total anger decided that if the car was broken, i was gonna truely break it, and decided to pummel it from 1st all the way up, and as i changed 2-3, there was a loud pop noise from the airfilter (kinda like the noise you get when you ping you finger from inside you mouth) and then it just hit full boost and took off. On asking about TIP was the main thing that came up time and time again, i logged MAF etc on VAG com, and did checks, but there was nothing at all showing up. Never had the problem again...oh and the boost guage read full boost whilst i was under load, and the car was under performing....Good luck :)

This is really annoying me guys.

Madmile, the N75 is next on my list of possibility's.

Need to find someone with a working one, would the one of an LCR fit?

RikH - was doing it with standard hoses and standard DV and standard airbox on.

Im really really gutted though....was also considering a knackered lambda sensor?

Not sure which one fits your. Anything boost releated like that I would be looking at hoses, Dv, Maf and if you have already dont most of them its a good idea to check the n75.
