I've had:

Standard LC box with standard filter
Standard LC box with k&n filter (briefly - very briefly)
Carbonio CAI

Out of those, best performer, and sound, came from the Carbonio.

Now however, I'm shifting back to standard LC box, with Green panel filter, and 100mm hose. Fancy something a bit quieter, and I need the money so I've sold the carbonio on.

Whoohooo lots of info about induction kits, keep it comming!!

Think we realy need sound clips of everyones cars (different set-ups), the DV and induction kit spec also!! Lots of variables here. I will try and get one up soon of the BMC, but "darth vader" def springs to mind when you back off the power  Nice and easy to clean, but bit on the pricey side i thought.

Well not constantly, again like most of the others on here, nice, audioable, people can def here it on the outside, whistley with the turbo spooling up on the inside!

I do like the carboni/007 on my mates re-mapped 150bhp 1.8t, that goes more towards the "whoosh" sound, might have to sample a carboni or similar filter oneday [B)]

From the start of time I have argued with my friends about what induction kit is the best. The big star on the streets seems to be the Pipercross Viper, or KnN.

I have started this thread so we can all discuss what induction kit really is the cream of the crop and are most beneficial for the Leon.

This thread would be a perfect guide to anyone who is thinking about purchasing an induction kit for there car in the near future.

If people have performance graph that would be excellent.

Personally it’s Green Cotton all the way. The Twister Model.

so very personal.
whats best for one wont be for person two, depending on what they want from an induction kit, as their criteria varies. performance, value, fitment, quality, noise, "badge" etc etc etc

My Carbonio and 007P have been referred to a few times as nearly atmospheric sounding!

I personally love the sound and it does turn a few heads.

Its even louder now following the remap.

As said though its a very personal thing what type of noise you like, i personally love the sound of a BOV but wouldnt risk putting one on my car, other people probably prefer a silent performer. :)

huge old school k&n filter rated to over 1000 bhp thats the way to go.
The difference in it and the standard box was unbelievable in my car, but i do run water injection to cancel out any hot air that it may draw in;)

i logged MAF air flow on the RAM air @191gps if that is any good to you, RAM air, and full bluflame with a remap. and the filter needs a clean too...sounds so nice witht the added boost, and the d/v is louder too i think.

Mine flows around 188-190 with APR stage 1, Dynatwist and full samco hoses.

I tried a BMC CDA and that struggled around 180g/s.

I fitted a green panel filter yesterday and i think this is the longest ive been out the car since i love it with the radio off even with the std DV it sounds beautiful so god knows what its gonna sound like with the 007 on it. Not sure bout the smoothing of the air box tho very time consuming for the effect it will have i thing but you never know night shifts do get boring sometimes cheers.

Dynatwist and very happy with it. There's a big difference in sound dependant on which dump valve you use with this kit. Forge 007 is fairly quiet whereas a different piston dump valve was a lot louder both in induction roar and dumping sounds.

Currently running the Jabbasport set-up on my LCR. Not done any flow test though....wonder if it might be a good idea. How do i do them, is it a VAGCOM thing?
