if you tint the fronts at all they will be illegal, seat have used green tint to the max amount already, youd be better tinting the sides and rear, the inside of the leon is black so not tinting the fronts will still look darker as the rears are letting in less light.

Ice on Mine & Mikes we've got Dark on the back and medium on the fronts... my sunstrip has been done in Dark (dunno the percentages tho sorry hun)

Just be careful tho, cause I know some insurance companies WON'T insure you if you have secruity film and if the tints are film and not a Spray on.. We've had this issue with one of our cars before. We decided not to get the secruity film in the end.

the law is no tints on the front at all, including windscreen and passanger and drivers side window

I thought the law was it has to allow 20% light threw on the front...

On another note tho, becareful as a mate of mine with a CTR, had to remove his front tints, then got pulled again another time, and they tested them again (this time stock windows) which failed, the police then tested there own car and it failed...

It passed the MOT with no issues.. surely it should have failed for that then?

and if i was making the law i would not allow anything less than 40% on the back either as i have 20% and the other night had to reverse down a country lane and i couldnt see a thing not even make out objects, south coast tints who did my tints said the law is not tints on the front what so ever even if you want them done they wont do it as they are breaking the law for doing it

I know what you mean about reversing in the dark.. i tend to stick my hazards on to give a little light..

Some companies will tint them but you have to sign a disclaimer stating you know that it's over the legal limit etc.

yeah i have heard some do but is it worth it cos once the police have you for tints and make you peel them off, 1 its a waste of money and 2 they start looking for other stuff

IMO it depends how you drive and if your car is "attention seeking"... my mate with the CTR you can hear it coming for miles the zorst is soo loud (saying that tho.. mine is BRIGHT yellow lol).. we've had 4 cars with tints, and so far (touch wood) we've not had any issues.. But then neither of us drive like nobs.. so they tend to let us just get on with it..

i agree as you say it all depends on the car i think a chaved up saxo they will go to town on but say a new M3 or LCR etc etc they wont as much, but then you do get the odd police officer out to make a name for themselves dont you the way i saw it was i want to stay within the law so had no tints on the front only the back and if i was to do it again i wouldnt go as dark.

Are you chaps talking about spray or film? Would love to get mine done but would never touch the air bubbling, dirt attracting film. Anyone know of anywhere in Donny that sprays?

If film is done properly then it's brilliant mate.. it's just those cheapo bodge jobs that buble up... most places offer a lifetime warranty for it too.. Never seen any spray on ones myself so wouldn't like to comment, but can say that 2 of our cars deffo had film tints and we never had any issues with them.

Uhm.. current ones I couldn't say I had some other work done too all in all I paid something like 350.. but I did have the bonnet, wing and rear spoiler sprayed... I think the guys said that it's about 250 to have all round tints they did the sunstrip for free as they'd never done one before (did a brilliant job on that, better than the other stick on ones I've had previously, it just looks better on the car, and it's so annyoing for Mike on the rare occasions that he drives my car.)

Get them professionally fitted. More expensive but at least you'll get a good job with no air bubbles. Mine were done by Pentagon - not cheap but look like they are part of glass as opposed to 'stuck on'

Ive got mine done at 35% allround apart from the front screen obviously and the black interior makes it look way darker so you should be ok with 35% mate touch wood never had any hassel from the fuzz yet. Cheers
