Forge 007 Reverse or normal?

well by all accounts it seems that on some cars it sounds totally gay, and on others it sounds actually all right.

is the side pipe equal diamter to the bottom pipe then as std?

Honestly mate, I was unsure whether to do it, but it takes like max 5 mins to do,

Here's what I did, went out to car at lunch, re-fit valve in reverse, went up and down road a few times with window open and window closed. Liked what I heard, (no gay chirp), so I kept it. If it had chirpped I'd of put it back. lol

I reversed my 007DV when I fitted my Forge TIP. I'd been meaning to try it. I wasn't bothered about the sound, I just wanted things running as efficiently as possible.

It seemed logical to me to have the (operating) vacuum on one side of the piston and the boost to be released directly opposing it. The released boost then comes sideways out of the valve.

It chirps, but seems to perform better.

The thing I really really really want to know is - exactly what is making the chirping sound.

(Answering "The 007" to this will not be considered helpful!)

The rush of air past the piston i guess is what makes the sound. Differences between sound compared to the way round that it fits can only be the force that it goes through the gap, as one way the pressure is helping the vacuum lif the piston, the other way its not. Thats my theory anyway, and i like it!

I fitted mine backwards before i put the filter on and it made a noise, where as it didn't really fizz at all through the standard airbox. Once i put the filter on i had to back the right way as it was too loud for me!

I would say "reversed" is the correct way to fit a Forge dump valve.

So really everybody that has there dump valve in the standard position is actually using it in reverse IMHO

i was going to mine then i thought it would knacker valve so i left but after reading this i think i am going to try mine in reverse as well see how it sounds

And you're right on the down side it does make your car sound a bit gay and is a bit look at me !

However on the up side I can now fit my carbon fiber engine cover without rubbing the small vaccum pipe, make my car do popeye impressions and it is a bit look at me

didn't notice any performace gains, supprisingly,

don't think it'll be like it for long as I'm sure the stupid noise'll soon stop being funny, especially after the Mrs hears it

Mine is reversed, I quite like the chirp, not as chavvy as a full bov

Agreed about the pipe, normal way up mine rubbed on the bonnet

Mark at Awesome told me to have it reverse fitted as it sounds and peforms better , as i beleave he worked for Forge for a long time so took his advise and he fitted it backwards for me at Awesome, the churp did sound odd at first but its either improved or i,ve just got used too it , much better DV than the Split R previously fitted whether fitted right or wrong way!!!

Mine is reversed? Doesn't chirp or squeak, just louder, specially with forge TIP.

i reversed mine earlier today and i think (in my humble opinion) that it sounds good, not overly loud like an atmospheric valve but different........... throttle response seems a bit better too.
