Coolant Temp Sensor...

My car has gone into the garage to have this replaced along with other things, and after using the search function for the past hour and reading up on the other problems, my worry seems to be....
The temp sensor's on the 210 LCR's were using 'black tops' and the later 225's were using the 'Green Tops'....
I'm quite worried if my Dealer will replace the temp sensor with the black one, and then later find out it will fail again.
Do they normally replace the 210 LCR's with green ones as there better?
If someone can show me how to find out once I get my car back, that would be much appreciated.

As above, I think it's a case of the actual sensor being superseded, not just a case of the later Leons having a different part. The Black sensor doesn't exist so you should be fine :)

If in doubt, phone the garage and ask for the green version specifically.

green ones aren't all they are cracked up to be.
replaced mine on the vrs with a green one.the faulty one in there was also green.so i assume it had been replaced already.
2 years on the latest green one is ok so far though

don't worry about it - they cost about £20, fail regularly and can be replaced in 2 mins with no tools.

You will definately get a green one, but they're still crap. Just part of vag ownership.
