hiya guys,

i've recently just brought a full leather interior for the leon all is fitted. but when fitted i found that there's no wiring for the front electric seats. doh! i have a quick fix using the ciagarette socket with an inline fuse for now so i coudl set the seats up. has neone ever put in a loom for them before or cost of getting one. went into seat in bournemouth, the chap there gave me a schematic of the seat wiring. that is all there. the loom was approx 59quid??? any info or advice would be great

I would also be interested in this as looking at sticking leather in our lasses LCR.

The cost of the loom is not bad, is that per seat or cover both?

Where does it plug into the existing electrics (our lasses is a 04 LCR)

Just run a love in off the fuse box with some twin core quality in line fuse holder and earth it to either of the earthing point either side of the dash, cheap do and a nice job can be done of it.

Still must get round to sellimg my leather!

there are specific seat looms for both memory seats and std 8 ways at about £40/£50 a pop

if you have the wiring diagram itself i personally would make a loom to suit

the connectors if reqd are about 40p each and terminals for them as repair looms work out about £3 for 10 's worth

if it's already in there and tested id run a suitable earth and FUSED ignition supply to it

i have the wiring diagram of the wires in the seats not the ones that need to be put in the car.

how would i know if they were memory seats or not???

at pressent my plan was to do as willbatch said. thats sort of what i am doing at present to adjust them twin 2.5 mm off the seat with an inline 10A fuse to the cigarrette ligher.

greatly appreciate the response guys

If they are memory seats they will have three buttons cuningly numbered 1 2 & 3 on the drivers seat near the movement buttons, these were only on early leather.

You didnt get this set from trents did you?

i think it was u who i was interesting in buying them from as i saw the ones on ebay for a grand. then i saw the ones at trents come up. i foned them the following morning from start of the auction and 350 + vat was their list price so i cudnt refuse that!!! shame i didnt know about the loom thou wasnt till i fitted them found it wasnt there didnt realise it was such a rare optional extra. very happy with them much more comfy than the clothe ones and lots more adjust with the electrics.

i only had the sports clothe interior i do however prefer the s3 leather recardos but they're a small fortune!!! think i'll give it a go wiring it myself from the fuse board with an in-line fuse under the seat jsut be be on the safe side. and i write to say brown is neutraul and blue/red is live?? this is how i have wired it and it works

i think best bet is to run in a live form the fuse board as will said. i;ve had a look today and i have 2 free slots so gonna get to a scrapy to take one apart so i have the correct connectors and fit an in-line fuse under the seats. got my leon going up to the dealer for a diagonisis next week due to a sucking noise from the induction so gonna see if they have any more diagrams or schematics of the loom.

Nick, are they memory seats mate? it's just i've got them and they link into the mirrors too so the seats and mirrors adjust to your 3 preset positions. Just thought i'd let you know incase this affected your wiring any

my memory seats have buttons on the side of the drivers seat numbered 1 2 3, and a red button to reset the memory. It's an X reg LC. would be sweet if they were key operated though.
