Has anybody tried one of these? If so how have you found it?

Looking at the EIP and JBS jobbies too but this one is cheaper and as long as it's not too notchy I'll be going for it.

Cheers

I've had one on since Christmas.

Top bit of kit. Easy to fit and makes a huge difference.

I've not noticed any increase in notchyness and I have the adjuster set about 2/3 down the notch. I keep meaning to move it down to shorten it abit more but haven't got round to it yet.

I bought a new dogbone bush to fit with it but haven't got round to fitting that yet either:whistle:

I would definately recommend it especially as it seems alot cheaper than the other makes (although i don't know how they perform)

Yes it's the same. As for insurance, you need to ask your insurance company. They might not care and may not charge you any extra. Equally, they may class it as a modification and void your policy if they find you with it fitted. So it's always best to ask if you're unsure.

Doubt the insurance bloke would even notice! Most of them probably don't know what an engine is let alone recognising a forge short shifter over a standard one hehe :)

Think you would be extremely unlucky to be pulled up on this one, and that's if you have to make a claim...

You'd be surprised. Don't forget the RX7 owner Vs Highway Insurance story where the invalidated his policy because they found posts on a forum about racing at Santa Pod and a T-Piece in the fuel line, which they claimed was from a previously fitted Nitrous kit.

Plus Direct Line kicked up a massive stink for me when I changed one set of standard fit Toyota Celica wheels for another set of standard fit Toyota Celica wheels!

Plus, increasingly these days it's not the insurance company that check your car over, it's the mechanics at the garage the car is sent to for repair. They will report back and if necessary, the insurance company will send somebody out to validate the garages report.

It's a very easy mod to do by all accounts. I'm no mechanic but when I finally get my ass into gear and buy one I'll be fitting it myself. Do a search for info as I'm sure somebody has posted instructions about how to fit one :)

THis is because insurers are nuptie snot underwriters anymore. Don't know of either case however from brief details.

RX7 if there was no nitro fitted when it had it's bump/used on the road, no increase in risk therefore can't through the case out.

Re the wheels, i have done the same on my elise, again they try and charge more, I ask why, premium based on risk, why has the risk increased etc, They can not answer and do not charge extra premium (after complaining).

Final point, never let an approved repairer anywhere near your car !!!!!
