In my opinion, if you maintain your car properly use the best oil, change it regularly, let the car warm up and down properly, etc etc - thats all you need.

Sorry, but talk is cheap. The placebo effect is a wonderful thing - works best on the same impressionable people who think their car is faster after polishing it, and that they get an extra 10bhp and better throttle response within 2 mins of half a tank of Optimax.

Hi Reg, did i misunderstand something - i thought your post on 31st december said 'it's crap' quote unquote. all i'm saying is that how can you say that if you haven't tried Ametech Restore. i submit 3600 positive feedbacks (yes 3 negatives, one complained about the postage, one said it got lost and one blamed me for his cam belt breaking at 70,000 miles), yes 3600 positive feedbacks on ebay from real UK car, boat and bike owners, that HAVE used Ametech Restore and who do NOT agree with your opinion:

You understood just fine. Good for those that bought your product and are happy with it, and yourself of course. There are a lot of people on ebay who buy the +45bhp dial-in-the-dashboard for £4.99 and leave good feedback. What can I say? I still don't have to consider it a good product though! In the spirit of professionalism I shall amend my post for you. I'm not changing my opinion on it, but I don't wish your business any harm either. Fair enough?

it must be catching as customers family members who i have bagdgered into trying 2 tanks of optimax have reported to stick with it as they reckon the car/bike runs like crap after swapping back to their normal fuel

this being an array of people from the mrs with a moped and a granny with a 1.25 fiesta amongst some things

i agree a lot of them are certainly not the 'magic' cures they claim to be but i have seen and experiences some that when used have produced some impressive results

The fuel one always makes me laugh. I'm a firm believer that Optimax/V-Power is genuinely good, better than standard fuel. I noticed in my M3 that is was smoother, and felt generally fit. But it took a whole tank or more to really benefit. A friend of mine genuinely believes that he can run his car on regular 95 RON, top up half a tank with 'the good stuff' and that his car turns into a monster. Its utter rubbish, but hey - he's happy! Half the cars (and moreso bikes) that people find it makes a miraculous change in are not sophisticated enough to get a major benefit from it.

no no defo no if i'm right in thinking then this will remove carbon deposits within the engine then that carbon flows through the engine and have seen it block up hla's oil jets etc
as a master tech i would defo say no no no no no especially on modern engines!!!

ive seen this sort of thing work ( only on my dads classic gt6) used fuel treatment and oil treatment to help remove deposits in the engine as it hadnt been used for around 8 years. you could hear it getting better with use. but we didnt leave it at that after a few days of driving and so on we did change the oil but you shouldnt let the oil get into that state really

Isnt that positive feedback due to good customer service generally? Like "Thanks for the speedy delivery" etc...

If no one on here's used it before, then no one is going to use it!

Isn't it funneh that you also became a member and NEVER post anything else anymore?

I'd be interested to see the outcome of this test. Personally I am skeptical (as most seem to be) but I guess if this stuff was complete cr*p there might be some feedback on eBay to say don't touch with a barge pole.

If I had a smoky old banger I'd certainly give it a test, but sadly (or maybe that should be happily) I don't.
