your dials are always on mate, its just normally light in the day so you cant see it.. :)

I'm sure the motorcyclists who skid on the diesel that spills out of your overfilled tank will thanks you from their hospital beds

as soon as you start the engine the tank level drops, let alone the air bubbles settling in the tank, thus meaning the tank isnt brimmed that much. Mines never spilt a drop out of the cap. I know this because i was concerned about spillage etc. so i checked.. i put a piece to tissue in between the cap and flap...no sign of fuel spills

leons have automatic doors as they close themselves, - usually just after you have opened them.

That's true... I've had the driver's door close and smack me in the head as I got in a couple of times. It :censored: hurts!!!

OK... so perhaps I should have opened it further so it got caught on one of the stays

Another thing.. you get 3 warning beeps if the water temp on startup is well below 60 (exactly how much below I have no idea..)

Sorry, if it's already been mentioned.. ;)

I had my car beep at me when you have the handbrake on whilst moving...(Found out by some annoying motorist in traffic following me so I slowed the car with the handbrake in between stopping and starting...)

And a flashing amber light by any chance?

This isn't a feature, its a fault, your expansion tank needs replacing. A search will yield about a million threads on the subject as it is a very common fault:)

its a fault, and the new ones will also get this fault eventually.

What do you mean the new 1's? The new version leons?

I replaced my expansion tank 2 years ago after i got fed up of the morning beeps and its never happened since:)

Yes its the expansion tank at fault, not the sensor! Most dealers should know this as it is a very common fault!

We as members on here seem to know a lot more than the average SEAT technician when it comes to sorting our cars :rolleyes:

I think he might be getting the coolant temp sensor mixed up with the expansion tank level sensor.

But, the other thing was that it IS actually the sensor and not the expansion tank that's at fault - it's just that the sensor probes are moulded into the expansion tank so it's all one piece.

You can clean the probes - it work well on mine. With the car COLD, take the cap off the expansion tank and you'll see two long metal probes - lightly scrap them with a small flat bladed screwdriver and you'll feel the scale coming off.

Its where your coolant is stored. Its just a coolant bottle really but like feel said it has the sensors moulded into it so the expansion tank as a unit needs to be replaced.

Only costs about £12.

Without having a quick peak, I can never remember which button opens the petrol cap and which one turns off ESP!

Also, LCR's have the most optimistic low fuel warning beep and light ever, when it first gives a warning it says you have about 25 miles left until empty but within about two miles it tells you it was just kidding and you have now only got 5 miles or 0 miles to find a petrol station!

Yep (LC too) one of the most unreliable cars in the world on low fuel. (oh **** factor when you always get less than 5 miles/litre.)
