Headlight upgrade issue

Ok guys, I seem to be having problems with bulbs all through 2006! I bought a pair of xenon H4 bulbs for my 99 cupra sport and i unclipped the bulbs, only to find a shape of bulb unlike the recommendations given by literally EVERYONE!

The bulb thats currently in place is a lot skinnier than the bulbs i've bought. the thicker bulb looks like it'll fit, but the current headlight bulb has a bracket in it, only allowing the slimline one to fit.

Any ideas on how i can overcome this issue?

you need H1 bulbs for a cupra/gti headlights

they use 2 H1 bulbs per lamp instead of a single H4 bulb like the other MK2 models

So you're saying that i'd need to buy 4 separate H1 headlight bulbs??

Indeed , thats assuming that you want to upgrade both main beam and full beam, I made the same mistake so your not alone.

Rip off merchants!! Lol. Why couldn't they add the cuprasport model in all the literature?? Would be a tad more helpful, rather than havin me fiddling with those clips for hours on end for no reason whatsoever!!

Haha, but surly you see it was a differant bulb when you removed it???

I think where the confusion lies is that 99 was the change over for the ibiza my old mk2 was a 99 T i brought some H4`s on ebay thinking they would fit, but no such luck!

Don't think of it as a waste of time - think of it as practice. If it took you hours of fiddling, then you must have needed it!
