Cupra dump valve question......

hi all, im new so take it easy on me!

my car came with a forge re-circing dump valve on it. i went out and bought a normal dump valve as i prefer the noise of those, so i machined up a bung ( a sort of upside-down top hat) and blocked off where it recirced to

i started the car and it just wanted to die, didnt want to idle at all, the same sort of thing when starting a car with carbs when cold.

so i took the bung out and tried it, and all was fine.

could i leave it with the reciric boss open? what would be the result of this? and finally, why did it not want to run when it was blocked off? is there an air sensor there maybe?

cheers chappies, look forward to hearing back from you.

These cars need a recirculating dump valve, if not they run like a bag of sh*te.

Have a search for whoosh sound.

Hi mate, im not the most technically minded person here, but leave the re circulating dump valve on there - the noraly dump valves arnt liked by the 1.8t - do a seach on dump valves and you will see a few threads about this -

cheers

Same thing happen to mine mate and i was told it was to do with the ecu thinking there was a boost leak when using atmospheric dump valves!! Stick with the re-circ!!

Just buy a forge 007p ;) good quility and servicible too.... if you want the whooosy sound proberly best to turn the valve upside down, get a open cone filter and a remap ;)

Go on, you're winding us up!

You'd run the car without anything in the DV boss of the TIP???? :roflmao:
