I'm seriously considering purchasing a TDI FR on PCP and I'm not sure about the maintenance packages that are being offered..the best ones i've found so far are around £50-55 a month and just wondered if anyone thought it was actually worth the extra expense...i'd be doing approx 20k miles a year so would prob need 2 services a year

thanks in advance

i take it you mean fixed cost maint, £50-55 is steep, i was £26 a month for my MK4 GTi,
£600 a year, 2 services you could get cheaper than that i think.

First service on my FR was £119 inc

Second service is goig to be £225 inc

Thats 20k miles and no where near £600 per year on a maintanance contract!!!

cheers for the reply, i thought myself this was pretty steep, but it is supposed to include wear and tear items as well - in the 20k miles that you have covered, have you had to replace anything such as tyres? If so, at what cost? I'll certainly try to find a package that is quite a bit cheaper than the ones i've found, Seat have a maintenance package but no idea of the cost...

thanks

In the 20k miles I have done, I have had to replace 2 tyres... and will probably need to replace another 2 in a 1000 or so miles... the tyres cost me £224 for 2 Goodyear eagle F1 GSD3's 225/40/18 and I need a new set of front pads now too.

Personally, I wouldnt go for a maintanence contract, have had them before and they would prefer you to drive in completely useless tyres rather than replace them for you.

All my own opinion of course :)
