Custom code gives you 161bhp at the wheels, instead of 130!

All pd130's ive seen on rollers put out nearer to 140 at the fly.

Spykes Figures are fine, as are Awesomes.

Its well proven that in 80% of cases the 130PD produces 140+ Fly HP, same rule with the 150 and 160. If you think that "Clive's" rolling road is perfectly accurate as your car attained its book figures thats just ludicrous. Its more likely that his was reading low on your pre-map run.

Andys was done on an Awesome rolling road day with many other cars straight on/off. Mine was done on the same rollers and got what i expected, again on a RR day with similar cars all producing their expected output. There was even a 2.0 Mk2 16v Cupra that produced only a few bhp BELOW the engine run on an actual Engine dynamometer. AFAIK awesome dont use a rule-of-thumb figure to give a generic Fly number, they actually use the rundown (took ages on mine as it was going 120mph :p) to get actual tranny losses...

Oh and im not an everyday Awesome customer defending them - my car gets work done at JBS, however know that Awesome are excellent nonetheless.

I know that, but i'm sure you know there is more to a remap than the actual process of plugging in the lappy. Your £500 is for the use of the code, just like MS charge hundreds for a CD (If that CD has MS Office on it) when in actual fact I can get you CD's all day long for pennies.

ive seen a standard leon 130 tdi put out 141 bhp lets remember manufactures set there figures not only to look good but also if they say its producting slightly less than it is that might be 1 or 2 insurance groups and the lower the group is the more people will buy the car! also for the statement of which tunner to use i would only use a dealer that is experienced and has a network to back it up one of the reasons i chose revo lots of dealers, im not saying the others are not good though, and as for the reason for this thread, dont most of the tdi owners say its the torque that makews the car quick not the outright bhp and he has got 280ft lbs of it, thats alot i would say
