Door won't open :-(

Well I delocked the drivers door following my recent attempted breakin, and everything went according to plan, door worked fine, until I locked it. Now I can't open the door!

There's no resistance on the handle either inside or outside the car. I've dismantled the interior handle but I've not been able to do anything with it.

Is there an easy way of getting the door interior off - while the door is shut?

Can't think of a way.

As the screws which allow the interior door panel to be removed are around the outer edge of the panel, removing them with the door shut is going to be nigh on impossible.

I take it that there is no way of opening the window and then sliding a piece of metal (coathanger) between the window and window rubber to unlatch it?

The door locks and unlocks as per normal, but the actually opening mechanism isn't working. No idea why - I tested it a lot of times before I actually locked it and it worked fine until it was locked.

Well I'm presuming the lock mechanism is working - the buttons going up and down.

There's a Leon being broken on ebay, so if I have to I'll knacker this door panel and fit a replacement. Probably go through 2 or 3 of those before I#ll match what Colliers will charge to fix it!

Think you will have to bite the bullet and cut the door card off matey had to be done on our A2 when the locks messed up on that . just get a door card first then chek the door works before fitting the new one.

OK, oh well, shouldn't be too bad.

No problems opening the other doors satilaboy, so the car is still usable.

Yup, and even dismantled the inner door handle, severe yanking on the cable has not made any difference.

Slammed my drivers door on my LCR the other day and sommat fell off, think it was the lock clip coz you can pull the lock out of the handle now. Attempted to fix it myself, took the door card out and was met with a big metal plate where the hole is meant to be. It looked like it was held on with some kind of rivots, so thought I would take it to my local VW garage ( Lookers Burnley ) coz my nearest Seat dealer is 20 mile away.
Told me at first it would cost 40 quid to strip the door down and see what the prob was.
Then they rang me and said it would cost 72 quid coz a part was broken and told me to pick the car up that afternoon.
Went to pick car up and they told me that they couldn't fix it coz another part was broken and they will have to order it and it would cost £100.40 to be repaired. They said I will av to take it back Monday. I went mad and told them that I want to see the broken parts, once they have taken them off and that it was daylight robbery and all they was missing was their masks !

The message is don't go to a dealer coz they rip you off, it'll cost at least 40 quid just for them to strip the door down. Told em as well, I want to be kissed next time I get f***ed !!!

Woohoo! Got into the door. I remembered last night that I'd moved the adjuster on the door handle (the bit the looks like half a threaded bolt). I pinged that off, locked and unlocked the car and I could then open it from the inside. *phew*

Delock is now complete apart from painting the plastic cover, just need to find where the paint code is on a Leon, or does anybody know the code for the dark metallic blue?
