Ive been looking at some recaro speed seats and relevant subframes. The main reason im looking is for some extra support and a seat that sits lower that the OE LCR seats. Does anyone know or have any ideas if aftermarket seats and frames sit lower than stock ?

Got Recaro sport's in the Toledo and they sit lower than standard, but that's only cos the seat base is physically lower (and doesn't have a storage box or any of that silly height adjustment stuff)

You can buy the subframes direct from Recaro (or eBay) ;) and the seats themselves were out of an Evo5

Was hoping there'd actually lower the seating position as i think the o/e is a bit high.

Coming from a Celica and then an S2000 that's understandable. I was the same, but you quickly get used to it, in fact I've been tempted to raise my seat a little from the lowest setting.
You just gotta remember this is a hatch back not a 2-seater sports car :)

Don't know where my tape measure's gone ....

or do you mean of his Recaro Speeds ??

This picture's deceiving - the gap between headling and seat is probably about 7"

Base of seat comes about level with top of doorcard pocket

If you change the original seats with recaro ones, what are you going to do with sensors for seats' airbags? is it possible to cancel those from the seats without those two from front?

We can supply Recaros if you do go for them

I will check the fittings on the Leon, some cars have sidemounts that can make the seat a fair bit lower than standard

Drop me a PM if you want a quote :)

You're a bit stuck on Vag cars cos they have the silly tripod arrangement subframes.

There's a fair amount of height adjustment though - don't think mine are as low as they could be, I'm 6ft1" and have plenty of headroom.
