Thought I'd start a thread to try and take care of some problems I've got and some others have had reading old posts.

Where have people earthed their amps?
Have you taken power from the top connections on the battery, or taken off the second cover and gone from the main terminals?
Routing of wires?
Interference?

Any other tips/tricks

i have earthed my amps/power cap to my seat belt buckle thing under the bold! the guy that installed mine originally took a feed straight of the top of the battery under the norm wires.... mine goes through one of the top right hand side holes (there might be a black cover over it) and yes there is interference with my speaker amp but not with my sub amp i dont know why as the wires go the same place so i disconected my speaker amp and ran the speaker straight from the Kenwood HU :) the wires go under the door sills...

-amp is earthed to the standard earth point behind the side panels on the near-side of the boot

-power is taken from main terminal

-routing of wires:
1) power goes through two grommets on the far near-side of the engine bay, 1st takes the wire under the scuttle panel, 2nd takes it through to the inside of the car, and comes out behind the insulation stuff behind the near side of the dash (remove the near-side of the dash panel and you'd see what i mean). Power cable then goes down the near side of the car under the plastic trim (simply pull up to remove) and comes out in the boot
2) Remote and rca's both go accross the driver's footwell, and down the off-side of the car, again under the plastic trim and out into the boot.

-interference...none :D

ive taken my feed off the bat terminal that has a second wire running off it its got a casptive nut and a spade end fits perfect on it . ive run my wires down the passenger side of the car through the bulkhead at the top right of the engine bay as you look at it then down under the sill trim to the back off the car. my rca's run just under the glove box from the head unit and under the sill trim again and ive earthed mine on that bolt as mentiuoned above but there are also earthing points for the lights on the boot( behind the carpet in thoses cubby hole type of bits at each side of the boot)
this shows where the amp power cable goes through the bulk head there is another hole behind this as well under the plastic trim under the wipers

yep...and it literally did take 10mins! glad i took my time with the wires though, it all went in pretty straight forward

btw occasionally when the stereo turns on/off the sub goes "pop" sort of thing....hardly ever but very occasionally pretty loud! lol, not too bothered, just curious to know what is happening.

that is the remote turning the sub on and off mine goes bump everytime i switch it on and off you might find the sub starts playing a fraction before the rest of the speakers turn on as well

Sub box, 6x9's and two amps all in now!
Took power cables though the grommet top right of engine bay as you look at it and then down running under sill on passengers side. RCA's run under centre console then go under passenger seat meet up with powers and go down side of rear seats.
No interference and so far and the only rattle is the parcel shelf-bit of carpet/foam and it'll all be sorted.
