Seeing as this is my first post i'd better start off by saying hi and what a great site you have going here.

My reason for joining the site is after what is nearly 3 months of searching for my dream leon/ibiza cupra i am still without car. There is no 2 ways about it the leon and the ibiza cupra are great cars and for the money you just can't beat them. However as most of you probably already know, to find a good one is like finding rocking horse poo and to be honest ive seen so many now am starting to wonder if there is any out there that really havent been tuned and then screwed to the hilt!

This week i have stumbled across a standard facelift leon cupra and it's got 185bhp (does that make it a lcr?) with 38,000 and they want £8000 for it, probably get them down to 7500, is this about right?

Also I know its a bit much, especially seeing as it's my first post and that. But this is also a big plea to anyone considering possibly getting rid of their 'Ibiza cupra R' I'm willing to pay top whack for a standard one with the usual fssh and general tlc youd expect, as i will be looking after it like my own baby.

Again, great site and hopefully i'll be part of the discussions soon enough bearing in mind i have to have the car before i can really discuss it. Any help will be truly appreciated!

Took me 3 months to find a Ibiza Cupra R. I found on Autotrader & searched National. Found one in devon so had to trek there.

Just keep your eyes peeled & as soon as you find one for sale contact them a.s.a.p

Theres not many Ibizas (mk3's) about.

Back in 2005 SEAT introduced the Leon FR, obsoleting the otherwise identical Leon Cupra.

Ive seen a New shape Leon Cupra (or cupra r). Yellow one 240bhp.

Looks similar to an FR but more agressive, Not sure if its out yet tho.

Defo had the Cupra badge on it

I wouldn't worry too much about ones that have been modded, or modded and returned to normal. Cupras are quite a rare car and you'll find from looking on this site that the owners really do take care of their cars. Full SEAT service history isn't all that. Again read on this site- most dealers no less than vw/seat specialists! receipts of service etc:) and evidence of tlc and you'll be fine.:)

I disagree
for resale purposes its best to get full dealer history and non modded cars,
Its a sure sign that the car has been pushed if its modded

I went for a car owned by a 40 yr old and no mods, and to be honest i'm glad i did as i know he looked after it and didn't blast it everywhere.

mate i have a onvi yellow 1 for sale it was std when i bought it and ive done the mods to it what most people are going to do anyway and all in the last 3 months, so everything that has been done is mint and not abused at all i have another car which i use all the time and use the cupra when the weather is nice. ive spent 3k on it but just cant afford to keep both, look in the forsale section or feel free to come and have a look at it if its not to much of a trek

Have faith & you will find;)

Not a car you see everyday. The only other Ibiza cupras apart from mine that Ive ever seen have been at meets.

Thanks for all the response, It's funny but it was actually marin boy's leon that prompted this whole thing. The leon for £8000 with no leathers! I agree it is a lovely example and prob have a great resale value aswell so I will go and look at it, however In a perfect world I'd love a ibiza and with the hlaf leather/alcantera trim. I know this seems like something silly on a car that has so many other great qualitys but after being in one with and without it's definately a swaying point for me.

There is one in hull on pistonheads and as much as a trek it is im willing to travel to it. anyone know of a 02 plate blue ibiza in hull? think the blokes name is andy

You'll be hard pushed to find a leon with leathers,
I tried to get one with Recaros but no bugger had one!

Ibiza's are nice, and quick, not for me though too small. good luck!

hey everyones looking at my car...! um what can i say? well when i was looking for my car to start with i did start loking for an ibiza but to be honest there is no comparison between them, the ibiza is too small and more of a boy racers car (flame suit on) compared to the leon. Ive not modded mine at all because im not really into that sort of thing, i know you can revo it which is supposed to be amazing. Ollie wasnt about on saturday as i was out on mtb getting muddy and then shooting arrows for a friends birthday in afernoon. Give us a call when your free and pop down to have a look. I reckon my car is a very good example as i really do look after it, but then i would say that!
