Lol..entertaining though...I wouldnt say it plummets as such...depends how its driven...its a shock to the system when it does start to fall though.

Yeah, was funny on my first tank of petrol after I bought it though:

"The gauge hasn't shifted for the last 100 miles, I'm gonna get 500 miles outta this tank"

10 mins later...

"Erm, I meant 250!"

Also when the low fuel warning sound comes on (and you recover from the shock of that beep) you have 10 mins tops to find a garage and get filled up. On the LCR the warning sound really does mean it's an emergency as the reserve is tiny.

If you flick through the computer you can select the 'range' option and if it reaches '0' you better be on the approach to the filling station.

That is probably the safety feature which stops the window clsosing if it senses resistance. It happened on both the LC and LCR. If you are clsoing the window and go over a sharp bump the window will automatically wind down, also turning off the one touch close function until the car has been restarted.

Which conveinently is activated whenever I enter a multi-story car-park, take ticket, drive off before barrier drops, raise drivers window, drive up ramp...doh!

My LCR does that mate - fuel gauge doesn't budge from full until I've done about 100 miles, then it plummets to zero!

That is probably because of the shape of the tank. Its not a linear scale due to the fuel tank shape. I have noticed the gauge 'sticks' and drops faster at different points.

when my fuel light/beep comes on i check how far it thinks i have left, normally says 25 miles i think.

however i have driven on 0 miles left for about 8 miles before! (i had no choice really!) that was worrying!

Iv driven alot futher than 8 miles when the computer is telling me 0.

I remember driving around 15 miles nearly when it said i had 0 miles...Only ever got caught out once. And it was about a mile away from my house...just because there is a hill going up to it...then when i got home and brought the jerry can back with me..there was no nozzle on the can..so i had to use a condom and hair band to fill the car up. lol

Nope more the point that the fuel range fluctuates between 10 then 5 then 0 then back up to 5.......so saying people have 8 or 10 miles when it hits 0 is a bit dodgy IMO

I guess - say 5 once I had a solid 0 without any fluctuation from it.

Pointless posts all the same as you say and not particularly interesting either.

I'll get my coat...... :)
