Add if you please, there might be a couple that people dont know about!

1. Everyone does know about the folding mirrors, yes? Turn the knob to the 6 position and the mirrors will fold in. (I personally never realised until a couple of months down the line   )

2. The car cannot hit 60mph in 2nd gear, it must be put into 3rd. (True mph)

3. The petrol cap cannot be opened until the engine is off

4. If you race the drivers window vs the passenger window by pressing them at the same time, the drivers window wins  :D

5. Everyone know about the little alarm button down by the drivers seat?

Any more interesting things that people ''may'' not know about their car lol

Another 1 that sometimes catches me out, i sometimes forget to turn my main lights on when it is dark as dash automatically illuminates even without the lights being switched on! In other cars you need to turn the lights on for the dash to light up hence you'll never forget to turn the lights on:redface:

Yeah and then get a flash from the driver behind and wonder what the hell you have done wrong lol

Ive done it a few times when the lights are not really needed like travelling around city centres etc

It allows you to have a dog in the car without setting the alarm off

So turns off the interior sensors then? Do you press the button, get out, lock the car and it's off? And do the sensors come back on after unlocking and locking again?

Also if you press the central locking button twice whilst locking, it disables the deadlocks.

God knows why you would want to do that?

LCR 225, it will go past 60 on the clock just, but for a true 0-60 time 3rd gear must be used. Limiter cuts in at around 58-59mph on standard rev limiter

isnt there a dim green light on the dash to tell you they are on ?

Yes but thats irrelevant as you are none the wiser when you dont have them on! In other cars the telltale sign is you dont have dash illumination which is 100% obvious! Because dash illumination is automatic, it is not so obvious that you dont have your lights on! The dash illumination misleads you into thinking that they are on, your not really paying attention for the little green light to tell you they are on.!

Im glad im not the only 1 that has done it then, lol:D

auto lights is so simple, you just dont worry about it. If it rains a lot, they come on, when its dark they come on. Some cars (Golf) come on if you go over 80mph!

See what your saying though, luckily I am used to it now after 5years in SEATs but if I was to drive the BM more I guarantee I would foget as I would get used to it doing it for me!

No mate, i suppose you've been doing it wrong for the last couple of years then?

Or is it me:redface:

1 push does everything, 2 pushes turns deadlocks off is the way i thought it was

Heres another few....

Your climate control display can be set to measure all sorts of readings/info throughout the car.

You can get 59 litres back into an empty 55 litre fuel tank

Your aircon doesnt work when its below 5c and your display will automatically set to temperature when it is below 5c as opposed to the time it normally displays!

You can use vagcom to make your car beep when you set the alarm
