Engine Cover Rattle

Anyone any tips how to stop the plastic engine cover from rattling away? Starting to drive me mad!

are you sure the cover is in at the back should be a bit of rubber that sits snuggly holding it. in the middle

Take it out

Once I'd fitted my strut brace the cover was rattling like mad so I took it out, rattle gone.

Yeah, its fitted snuggly against the rubber bung towards the back and seems miles away from the strut brace

Check it's not your airbox rattling on the strut brace or stick some pipe lagging around it so you've not got two hard things knocking together.

The rubber ring in the rear engine cover mount split twice on mine, resulting in the back of the engine cover coming loose.

Have a quick check, as it would be a very easy/cheap fix.

Wasn't miles away in mine, was about 5mm or so away. And the engine moves a LOT so it's always goign to hit the brace.

Seriously give the engine a a wobble and see how much it moves

Just watch it idling with the bonnet up....lots of movement.
