the other day from inside the engine bay i took the top part of the strut cover off (the nut and dish thingy which stops the suspension from falling out the strut!) in the hope that i could get to the bearing from there!
well i couldnt and i now realsie its a coilover off job to get to the bearing!
but what i did do was sprayed wd40 into the top of the strut hoping it would leak down into the bearing.
anyways it seams to have helped ever so slightly. only i can hear the EVER SO slight noise i get now which sounds more like the springs than the bearing.
if thats how the noise says id be happy (as u cant really hear it!)
but anyways, what i plan to do is, on sunday after my track day at lydon this saturday il take my alloys off to givem a good clean (brake dust/tyre debris etc) and whilst they are off il be able to get much better acces to my coilovers, so il give the springs, platforms etc a good clean with brake cleaner or sumic and then il give them a good lube with some copper grease.
hopefully that will make them perfect!
talking of copper grease... i have some in a tube, i assume u can get it in a spray can?! cos that would be handy, especially if it had a straw (like wd40) so i could get right up into the bearing!
or should i be using some other sort of grease/lube instead of copper grease?!
cheers guys.
