CUPRA boss confirms the 2.5L 400HP CUPRA Formentor is coming in 2021

Don't expect any right-hand-drive UK models though.

In a recent interview with Top Gear, CUPRA and SEAT boss Wayne Griffiths, whilst discussing the CUPRA El-Born all electric hatch, confirmed that the rumoured Audi RS3 engine powered CUPRA Formentor previously spied testing on the Nürburgring is coming this year. It, as expected will have around 400HP.

The car is unlikely to come to the UK though sadly.

Check out the unusual exhaust setup and listen to that sweet sound again in the video below (it’s the white one).

We hope to bring you a review later in the year and will of course provide full details and pictures when they are officially released.

For now, who’s up for a petition to make a right-hand drive model of this beasty? Let us know in the comments below.

This is really crazy. So they don't want to bring 400hp version and don't want to give the ABT version either. They are cutting corners on the ones which are coming to UK by removing socket in the boot, beats audio etc.

Too costly to make RHD for the volume they will sell.

Interesting the car didn't have electrically adjustable drivers seat which is odd for the high end version considering this is offered in 310 hp versions.
