| SEAT’s relentless sales growth in the UK continues apace with the news today that the Spanish brand has notched up more all-time records here. • July is SEAT’s best-ever market share for a single month with a figure of 2.07%. • Sales of 21,228 year-to-date are another all-time record in UK • SEAT up 6.7% year-to-date in a market down 6.7% as a whole |

Official statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that SEAT’s July market share soared to 2.07% – an all-time best for the Brand in a single month and up from 1.88% in July 2010.
Meanwhile year-to-date sales of 21,228 new cars are another all-time best, underlining the fact that SEAT’s success in July is no statistical blip.
And, arguably, these achievements are all the more impressive when considered against a UK market that has slipped almost seven per cent so far this year. By contrast, SEAT’s sales have grown 6.7% versus the same seven-month period in 2010.
Ibiza and Leon continue to be the Spaniards’ star performers, with everything from high performance FR and Cupra versions to high economy Ecomotive models all contributing to the impressive total.
Meanwhile SEAT’s multi award-winning new Alhambra continues to garner sales at an unprecedented rate. Almost 1,000 have found homes in UK garages so far this year, while an exceptionally healthy order bank promises more impressive numbers in the future.
Peter Wyhinny, Managing Director of SEAT UK, is keen to underline the Brand’s ongoing upward trend here. He said: ‘I’m very pleased to see such a strong performance in July, which comes on the back of other significant records this year.
‘It’s now very obvious that our dynamic, stylish and great value cars are making an increasing impact here. Importantly, too, our dealer network is growing while our increased marketing activities around such high profile events as the UEFA Europa League are putting the SEAT Brand in front of an audience of millions.’
He added: ‘The backdrop of a UK new car market down almost seven per cent this year only goes to show that SEAT’s compelling offers on cars like the Ibiza Copa and Leon Copa are connecting more powerfully than ever with buyers who, above all, want maximum value for money.’
