SEAT have delivered a total of 500 units of the new Leon ECOMOTIVE to the British utility company Centrica, the largest supplier of gas to domestic customers in the UK and one of the largest suppliers of electricity, which operates under the trading name British Gas. This operation is SEAT's biggest sale of ecological cars to a single company.

The delivery was made today in SEAT's Martorell factory installations, and the ceremony was attended by SEAT´s Director of Export Markets Jochen Funk and the Martorell factory Manager Juan Ramón Rodríguez.

These efforts prove the Spanish company's environmental concern – manufacturing cars with low fuel consumption figures and emissions levels. The new León ECOMOTIVE delivers an average consumption of only 3.8 l/100 km and a segment record-setting 99 g/km of emissions, making drivers exempt from paying the central London congestion charge. Furthermore, it is equipped with a top-notch equipment line-up that includes the Auto Start/Stop function and the energy recovery system.

The agreement with Centrica, the energy sector group with the greatest experience and trading volume in global liberalised markets, is part of SEAT's strategy of boosting sales to companies. Moreover, it will increase the brand's visibility and image in the UK, as well as raise its awareness within the British fleet car market.
