From rear 1 fog light to 2 fog lights

I saw that the Leon KL have 1 foglight at the rear. But in UK on the other side. So i looked on the taillights iff there is also a foglight on the other side. I saw leds so i assumed there was also a foglight.

I found a unused pin on the inner taillight (pin 3) and figured ot out it is for the foglight.

To get 2 foglights it a simple mod.

Tak a wire for +/- 100cm and a connector for the free space on the side where there is no working foglight (EU right side / UK left side).

Put in the wire connector in the free space (Pin 3) and route the wire to the other side a solderen the wire on the existing wire of Pin 3.

DONE

I've had mine three years and never even noticed there was only one fog light, unlike the reversing light travesty on the MK3 - just the one fitted and it wasn't even LED.

Very good tutorial.

Could you say which connector is on the cable that reaches the headlight?

Hi, thanks for the tutorial, but in my case didn't worked. Plugged the cable and the right light doesn't light up. Checked the voltage and had +14vdc on the black connector with the black cables of the light. My light have the led on the outside and the pin in the socket. The car was produced late 2023.

Did you connect on the right pin? Show picture off the pins and the lights at the rear
I don't have a picture of the cables and connector (already closed the cover) but I did install the cable on the same position. The connector has equal to yours (number of cables and colors).

How do you remove the cover/protector to get access to the connectors?

I've done this:
Pull on either edge of the plastic cover on the glass side and go around of the cover, those clips will pop out easily. The hard ones are in the holes of the handles that have bigger clips and you need to do fast and strong pull and they should pop out. You can use some long flathead tool but I've managed to do only with force.
There's one clip on each handle. Once that one's done the cover is out. You don't have cables or other things to detach/worry.

To mount the cover, start the same process, align the clips and push around the cover. On the end, the clips on the handle do a strong push and they will pop-up.
