Green Filter MAF logs

Put my new replacement Green filter in today (old ones not looking too healthy from having things piled ontop of it in the shed after being removed for the 40k service).

Thought I'd log the MAF airflow differences with VAG-COM. Paper filter is a standard SEAT paper filter, 4000 miles old, was a little dirty but not too bad. Green panel filter brand new.

No difference between the 2 filters at all at low RPM, very minimal improvement by using the Green filter at slightly higher RPM, but that could just be down to the paper filter being slightly dirty.

Only other engine mod to the car is Revo.

Did 3 runs using 3rd gear per filter, would have liked to have used 4th gear, for a smoother graph, but had to limit the speed due to my choice of quiet national speed country lanes. Started doing torque runs too, but had to back out of both runs at 3000rpm ish due to foxes running out infront, so called it a night.

Good work - an interesting graph...not much difference between the two.

Although it would be good to compare a paper filter that's covered more miles, I suspect the green filter would maintain good flow for longer, where the paper filter would start to clog more (remember, on the Ibiza the paper filter is only scheduled for change every 40k...)

Would also be interesting to see the difference on a PD130 Ibiza, which has a much smaller airbox, you might see some differences there because of the smaller surface area.
If I wasn't about to get rid of mine and have just spent the weekend cleaning it, I'd have a go :)

yes interesting indeed. I would agree with muddy that i guess it would deteriorate at a quicker rate as it gets older. But ive always thought the intake/airbox for the leon was very good and didnt need different filters and this seems to confirm it. A regularly changed paper one is just as good as a performance one.
